Can substituting fruits for food help me lose weight?

Yes.

Partial replacement of cereals and meat in the diet with fruits is a well known and healthy method to lose weight. Fruits provide minimal calories, but still contain essential vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients required by the body.

The strategy of using fruits in losing weight is: Calculate how much cereals, meat, eggs and milk are you going to eat. The diet should then consist of that much food, plus any amount of fresh seasonal fruits as per the appetite (except high calorie fruits like banana).
